What are the different costs involved in buying a property?

There are various costs that you need to pay when purchasing a property, apart from the price. The two main costs include legal fees and stamp duty (paid on completion).

What kind of return can I expect when investing in a property?

The rate of return that property investors receive from investing in a residential property varies from property to property. Is the area we’re purchasing safe?

Is my deposit safe?

Buying an off-plan property can be a great way to invest early and buy at a lower price. Staged payments are required when buying an off-plan property, usually 10% followed by 1 or 2 stages of payment.

In the UK, the solicitor is there to ensure the contract stipulates that the deposit you pay is guaranteed by an independent warranty provider that is recognized by the UK Council of Mortgage Lenders (such as NHBC, BLP, LABC, or Build-Zone), who will either step in to complete the development if it runs into difficulty or repay your deposit. Usually, there is a cap of £100,000 or 10 per cent (whichever is lower).
